Knitting is for everyone, and so is this app. Here's honestly where it stands.
What's built in
- One focus outline, the same everywhere, on every button, link and field — so a keyboard or switch user never loses their place.
- Touch targets of at least 44 pixels, because knitting needles and precise tapping don't mix.
- The whole app grows with your screen. On a tablet everything is proportionally larger, not just stretched.
- Full light and dark modes, either following your device or set by hand in Settings.
- Animations are kept small, and they stop entirely if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Real headings, real labels, and real buttons underneath — so a screen reader describes the app rather than guessing at it.
- The offline screen is built to render even when the styling never loads.
Where it falls short
- Pinch-to-zoom is switched off across the app. That's a deliberate trade: the counter is tapped constantly with a needle in the other hand, and an accidental zoom mid-row is worse than no zoom at all. Pattern PDFs are the exception — the pattern reader has its own zoom, which is where magnifying a chart actually matters.
- The app hasn't been through a formal accessibility audit, so we're describing what we've built rather than claiming a standard. We'd rather tell you that than put a badge on it.
- It's in English only for now.
