Terms

Last updated October 6, 2026

The short version: the app is yours to use, your projects and patterns stay yours, and either of us can walk away whenever.

Who this is between

RowliPurli is operated by Olena Nevel, a sole proprietor in the United States. "We" means that person. "You" means you. Using the app means you accept what is on this page.

What you get

An account you can use to track your knitting, for free. There is no paid tier, no trial, and nothing locked behind a payment.

Donations are optional, and they are what lets this keep going — they are genuinely appreciated. But they are gifts rather than purchases, so a donation doesn't unlock anything, isn't owed anything, and comes with nothing in return. That is the whole arrangement, and Donations sets out the rest.

You need to be at least 13 to hold an account of your own. That rule is about the account, not the knitting — a younger knitter is very welcome here, on a parent's or guardian's account. There is no age gate; we are telling you the rule rather than making you prove it.

Your account

Sign-in is by a code sent to your email address, so your email is your account. Keep access to that inbox — anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us if you think someone else has got in.

One account per person, and don't share yours. You can delete it yourself at any time from Settings, which removes your content along with it.

Your content stays yours

Your projects, notes, photos, and the pattern files you upload remain entirely yours. We claim no ownership of any of it.

You give us only the narrow permission the app needs in order to work: to store your content, make the copies that running a service requires, and display it back to you on your own devices. That permission exists so the app can function, it is not exclusive, we earn nothing from it, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.

We will not publish your content, show it to other knitters, use it to advertise, or train anything on it. There is no sharing feature in RowliPurli, which is the strongest version of that promise: the capability does not exist.

What you upload

By uploading a pattern you confirm you have the right to store a copy of it — normally because you bought it. Don't upload patterns you don't have the right to, and don't use RowliPurli as a way to pass files to other people. If a designer tells us a file shouldn't be here, we act on it; see Copyright.

Also, and briefly: don't upload anything illegal.

Fair use of the app

Please don't:

  • Try to break in, access another knitter's account, or get at data that isn't yours.
  • Scrape it, hammer it with automated traffic, or use it as file hosting for something unrelated to knitting.
  • Resell access to it, or pass it off as your own product.

Backups are your call too

We take reasonable care of your data, but RowliPurli is not a backup service. If a pattern or a photo matters to you, keep your own copy somewhere else. This is the kind of sentence every service writes, and it is also genuinely good advice from a one-person operation.

Availability and changes

The app is provided as it is, when it is available. We may change features, add them, or remove them. If something is going away that you rely on, we will try to say so before it happens rather than after.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You can close yours whenever you like, for any reason or none, from Settings.

No warranty

RowliPurli is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will never lose data.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RowliPurli and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, RowliPurli — even if we have been advised of the possibility of those damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to RowliPurli or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) $100 or (b) the total amount you voluntarily donated to RowliPurli during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under applicable law, or takes away a right you have as a consumer that you cannot waive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts serving the operator's county of residence in Texas, and both of us agree to that venue.

If you are a consumer somewhere with laws that give you rights you cannot sign away, this paragraph does not take them from you.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. There is no re-acceptance prompt and no checkbox — continuing to use the app is how you accept the current version. If a change is significant, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing the page.
